Re: Sale bill
Dear Sir:
After much thought I have decided to write this letter to let you know how dissatisfied I am with the recent dealings with Wal-Mart. On Sunday, January 18, 2009 I went to the Marion Illinois Wal-Mart Store, to purchase the item that was on the very front of the Pet sale bill. Your advertisement stated “ GET YOUR PET’S NEED’S AT UNBEATABLE PRICES”. Well there are several problems with this as I will explain.
I spoke with the department worker in the Marion Wal-Mart and he told me that he was unaware of any sale on IAMS dog food. I explained that it was in the front page of the sale bill and the dates where January 8 though January 22, 2009. The advertised price was:
Iams Dry Cat Food
Wholesome, nutritious ingredients for total body health. 1.8-2 lbs
3 bags for $10.00.
Great Value for us economy strapped consumers. However, this was not to be. He insisted that I didn’t know what I was talking about, even though I had the ad. So I thought ok there is another Wal-Mart up the road in Benton, Illinois and I’ll go there. So off to the Benton Wal-Mart I go.
Again, no signs showing that IAMS was on sale so I ask the department sales woman about it and showed her the ad. She said hang on and let me go see if I can get the sale bill. I really don’t know why my sale bill was being questioned but I said ok. So, after approx. 10 minutes she comes back and says you are right, it is on sale and it is on the internet as being on sale, but there is a problem. I ask what the problem was and she said “We have never had the 1.8 - 2LBs size, ever. I said really. I said what about the 7LB bag for $10.00. She said we don’t have that one either. I know I had the dumbfounded look on my face. Being shocked that this was now 2 stores that didn’t have the advertised product. But still determined to receive what Wal-Mart was advertising I head to the 3rd store.
So off to Wal-Mart in Mt Vernon, Illinois. Several things are wrong with this to begin with. One I should NOT have had to drive 75 miles to try to get YOUR advertised price and product. I could see if the product was out of stock but there was never any product to get. Plus I had $3.00 Manufacturer coupons which would of made this a great deal for me and my cats! Disappointing doesn’t even come close to the way I feel. I feel like this was false advertisement and I even ask the lady at Benton Wal-Mart if this was company policy to put things in the sale bills so they didn’t have to produce them. She couldn’t answer that question for me, maybe you can. In today’s economy with everything being so highly priced, one has to look for ways to cut here and there. That is one reason I use coupons and the other reason why I look for sales.
I would appreciate a answer to this letter. I am also requesting my IAMS cat food. 15bags to exact, because that is what I went to get. That is what I have coupons for and that is what I expect.
Looking forward to your response, I can be reached at the address and phone number below. I also will be posting this on my blog, http://www.savingmoneywithdot.blogspot.com as I’m sure my reader’s will be quite interested in this.
Sincerely,
Dot
Ooh, that's good. I can't believe that and I can't wait to see what they have to say. Be sure to keep us posted.
