couponing 101 Class

Hi there.
Grab and seat and sit a spell. I'm going to start posting regularly on here starting this week. Sunday Ramblings

Not really a whole lot on sales today. I did go to CVS and I will say there are lots of hidden deals. Like I picked up pantene proV, Fusion Razors for nothing. The fusion razors are on sale but if you look I found them for 4.99 instead of the 7.99 advertised and I had 4.00 off coupon and also a free bottle of body wash so walked out with 6.99 in EBC's and paid 4.99. Good value.
The only problem of the day was I went with DH and in his truck and my CVS card was in my Blazer. So I ended up using my phone number and it came up with a totally didnt card number then I've been using so I didnt get to use any of the EBC's that I had. But that's allright that puts me with about 40.00 in EBC's for next week. I will just have to remember to separate my deals out.

Kroger does have some good buys and I'll be getting down there this week.I'm suppose to have the pins taken out of my foot on Wednesday and then DH has his 1st doctors appointment for his knee replacement. It's been 4 weeks now, sure doesnt seem that long but anyways I'm waiting to stop at Dierbergs and Schnucks and pick up a few freebies there.

Do I have a story for you....... couponing at KROGER'S!

Today I had a ear doctor appointment and took the afternoon off work. So I decided to stop by a Kroger that I don't normally go to. Well here's what I got (not everything is in the picture as I had put some in the freezer and started putting it up when I thought I needed to take a picture.

20 Jars Frank Hot Sauce
10 Jars Kraft Real Mayo and Miracle Whip
4 box's of Nature Valley bars

3 Russel Stover Heart Candy (shhhh 1 is for Zeke's teacher)

So anyways, I get the checkout and Kroger is having a buy certain item's sale and get 5.00 extra dollar's back. So all the above with the exception of the candy and the Nature Valley were on this deal. So with my coupons and the extra 40.00 off my amount came to MINUS 1.60. The checker said here is your change and handed me 1.60. I said I don't think you owe me this, because I didn't pay you anything. He said Oh yes, it says I do and I'm to give it to you. I thought OK buddy but I don't think your register is going to come out right. I took the money and my cart full and smiled all the way to the car. How's that for deals.


P.S. I forget the daisy sour cream and my Cottonelle coupons at home... so I'll have to go back. I forgot all about DH telling me that we were out of room. Now I'm waiting on my DD (darling daughter) to come shop! : )

If you remember last week I had trouble with the checker over the candy, well I thought since I was at Kroger and being that CVS is next door in this town I would give them another chance. I mean everybody has a bad day every now and then. Well I've found out NOT THIS STORE!!! I'll explain it later.

This was were the problem was: First off I had a coupon for 1.00 off any revlon product. The cashier (and OH how I wish their names printed on the receipts like Walgreens does) refused to take the coupon. The date was good. I explained to her that it was for any revlon product and she said: "but it doesnt show nail polish on the picture"! I'm glad I wasnt buying milk from this lady and it had a cow instead of the jug of milk. I'd of had to run home and gotten the truck!!!!!! So I said well I hope that the survey doesnt print at the end of the receipt because if it does you just earned yourself a 1 instead of a 5 being that this is the second week in a roll that this has happened in this store. I went on and said, politely of course, Maybe you should take lessons from the store up the road. They are always cheerful and polite..... and even smile. With this I put my next transaction on the counter. I knew she was happy to ring this one up. : )

What a SHOPPING trip! Whewwww

Well since today was double coupons at K-Mart I was there shortly after they opened. Also, had the chance to meet a fellow couponer from another town that was hitting the doubles for the day and we shared a few deals we found with each other!

So I'll try to tell you what I got. Should of took pictures but I didnt. I was ready to get it all put up. We went to K-Mart, CVS, Kroger, Target and Walgreens all in under 5 hours. Not bad.......and the stockpile went up even further. So here goes

I got everything from Body wash, Visine, Mouthwash, Carefree, Cereal, Spray N Wash, Alka Seltzer, candy, LOTS of Byer, Motrin, Tynenol.

Plus received a $10.00 rebate from General Mills for $10.00 back on the cereal that I purchases so over all amount would be $49.70

First let me say that I have never EVER had a problem with a checker at CVS but since I was doing the double coupons at K-Mart I thought I would go to a different CVS then I normally do. Well this guy, had a different idea then I did and I'll explain it at the end.

So I ask to speak to the manager and he told me they didnt have one. I said you surely have someone that is in charge and he said yes we do. I said that would do. Well she happened to be walking by and he explained the situation and she said well let her have it at .03 and I'll correct it later. Well when transaction 3 came up and I was short using my EBC I just dumped the box of chocolates out on the counter and said start counting I'll take them all. I think my daughter could of crawled under the cart but it came up right with me owing .05. I guess I could of took one off but didnt want to make a scene over 1 candy. LOL and I figured also since I didnt make him correct Transaction number 2 for the .30 different we were even.
