What a SHOPPING trip! Whewwww

Well since today was double coupons at K-Mart I was there shortly after they opened. Also, had the chance to meet a fellow couponer from another town that was hitting the doubles for the day and we shared a few deals we found with each other!

So I'll try to tell you what I got. Should of took pictures but I didnt. I was ready to get it all put up. We went to K-Mart, CVS, Kroger, Target and Walgreens all in under 5 hours. Not bad.......and the stockpile went up even further. So here goes

K-Mart

Total: 126.07 in products
Coupons 66.37
Total Spent: 59.70

I got everything from Body wash, Visine, Mouthwash, Carefree, Cereal, Spray N Wash, Alka Seltzer, candy, LOTS of Byer, Motrin, Tynenol.

Plus received a $10.00 rebate from General Mills for $10.00 back on the cereal that I purchases so over all amount would be $49.70

CVS

First let me say that I have never EVER had a problem with a checker at CVS but since I was doing the double coupons at K-Mart I thought I would go to a different CVS then I normally do. Well this guy, had a different idea then I did and I'll explain it at the end.

1st Transaction

2 CVS Diaper Wipes 2/ $4.00
2 Pledge with dusters 4.59

Used: CVS 3.00 off coupon
Used: 4.00 off $15.00 coupon
Used: 6.00 EBC

Total OOP .19

2nd Transaction

2 CVS Diaper Wipes 2/$4.00
1 Dark Chocolate candy .33 (This is where the problem came in)
1 Twix .89

Used: 3.00 off CVS product coupon
2.00 EBC
Total OOP .23

3rd Transaction

2 CVS Diaper Wipes 2/$4.00
18 Dark chocolate candy .03 each total .54
1 Butterfinger .50

Used: $3.00 off CVS product coupon
2.00 EBC
Total OOP .05

Now where the problem came in at was the candy was marked .33 each, but when he rang it up it showed .03. But he was bound and determined that I wasnt going to get it at .03 and I was bound and determined after number 2 transaction that I was. So I ask to speak to the manager and he told me they didnt have one. I said you surely have someone that is in charge and he said yes we do. I said that would do. Well she happened to be walking by and he explained the situation and she said well let her have it at .03 and I'll correct it later. Well when transaction 3 came up and I was short using my EBC I just dumped the box of chocolates out on the counter and said start counting I'll take them all. I think my daughter could of crawled under the cart but it came up right with me owing .05. I guess I could of took one off but didnt want to make a scene over 1 candy. LOL and I figured also since I didnt make him correct Transaction number 2 for the .30 different we were even.

So total shopping at CVS was:

So overall it was a great shopping day. You have all week to get out but I will say this, if you wait you take what's left. Most serious couponers where out getting the bargains early and I know the shelves where getting bare on some items. Like the chex mix. I had 1.50 off on each box and there were only 4 left. : (

Total today 181.91 in Free products!
10.00 gift cards from Target
10.00 Wags from Walgreens
18.98 EBC's from CVS left

Not a bad Sunday shopping trip at all

  1. Hi. I don't remember if I told you my name, but it's Renee. It was so nice to me meet you.

You wouldn't believe the hassle I got. First of all, they tried to tell me my total was almost $80. I kept saying that can't be right. Well, I read one deal wrong and ending up getting 3 or 4 of something that was $8 each, so I put those back. My total was still like $60. I still kept saying that there was no way that could be that much...no way, right? They insisted it was right, I paid, went to the parking lot and checked the receipt, and went back in for an explaination. I ended up sitting there and figuring it all up and it should have been almost $15. I had to retun everything and re-buy it. This time I didn't buy anything that wasn't free except for Huggies bath cloths that I paid $2.50/3. I ended up paying just over $5 for it all. When I was ringing out the second time the Visine coupons beeped and she wouldn't put them thru despite my efforts to make her take them, but the ACT one's worked just fine. Anyway I got some great deals and saved a lot of money. But can you believe that they overcharged me by that much? I still don't get what the heck they did.

  2. Wow! You did well! What coupons did you use for the Tylenol and Motrin?

  3. I can't find a way to send you a private message. My email is naepeace@yahoo.com. If you send me a message I'll send you my address so we can swap sometime.

BTW...you are really good at saving money. I can tell your system is really efficient because it would have taken me ALL DAY to do what you did this morning! Did you have any problems with the BOGO Oust at Walgreen's? I just realized the sale is for Oust Air and the Q was for Oust Surface & Air.

  4. I had 2.00 coupons for motrin, excedrin and bayer so I got the closest to 4.00 bottle that I could find. All of them where right under that amount so it ended up being free for those. I get coupons from alot of different places and found that the bigger city coupons have alot better deals then our local ones here do

  5. Ah. Thanks. My Tylenol and Motrin Q's are only for $1.00. I was wondering! :)

Do you mind explaining the GM cereal deal? I suppose I've missed hearing this deal somehow. I have some pretty good cereal Q's right now.

    Thanks.
